Extract indigo from Polygonum indigo as a dye (indigo), spread the hollow pattern on the white cloth, use a squeegee to scrape the anti-dyeing agent into the pattern gap and leak it on the cloth surface, put it into the dyeing vat after drying, and put the cloth under the vat After 20 minutes, take it out to oxidize and ventilate for 30 minutes, and generally go through 6 to 8 times of repeated dyeing to make it reach the desired color. Then take it out and oxidize it in the air. After drying, scrape off the anti-dye paste powder, and the blue and white pattern will appear. Because it is all hand-dyed, the pulp after drying will inevitably have cracks, forming the unique charm of hand-made blue calico - ice cracks, while the current machine-made calico or blue calico that does not use traditional techniques are blue and white. There is no trace of handwork, so the protection of traditional skills is imminent. The patterns of the blue calico are auspicious and festive and have been loved by ordinary people for three hundred years.
